Day 1 - 13 hours in car [Campbellton]

Sunday, August 21, 2011
Today was... definitely a long ride. Even though we spent most of the day in the car, there's one thing for sure! I've been to 3 different provinces in one day! ;D
Waking up at 5:15 is not fun at all, but if you sleep at 1 ish, it's more or less a nap, rather than a sleep. So I was able to wake up okay. We did last minute packing, put things in the car, grabbed our bags and within an hour we were in the car. Prayer before we left, and then we were pretty much on our way to New Brunswick!

Leaving Ontario and going into Quebec gave us a bit of a hard time. Why? Well, it's French everywhere. I know, I've learned a bit but I don't really remember much of what I've learned. I pretty much forgot everything. Embarrassing on my part, but whatever. I WAS A PROUD ENGLISH SPEAKER. :) The sad thing is that the sudden pour of rain followed us almost the whole way. The wheels on the car would occasionally slip a bit and I would be like "whoooaaaaaaaaaa dad." But thankfully the slip weren't so bad and my dad was able to get back on track again.
To be honest, the ride there wasn't all that fun, I spent a lot of time on my ds playing a downloaded card game and nintendog... my dog wouldn't even listen to me. - - so i gave up on her. I slept a bit, because well... it's a 13 hour ride, it's hard NOT to sleep. I probably had most fun when I was watching "Baby and Me". IT. was adorable, and Jang Geun Suk was sooo young. I was like ";o" And Moon Mason was adorable. XD ALTHOUGH i'm not so sure if i liked park myeong su's voice for the baby.
So yes, anyway. While almost going insane from sitting in a bumpy car ride for too long, my parents and I suddenly see the... ocean.. river... sea... lake... lake? i dont know. LOL oops. But yes, it was beautiful! It was so still and calm... the hill... mountain things made it look even more.... "wow". To put it, it was pretty much breathtaking! It matched the sky colour so nicely too. The houses along the side were very cute as well. (: House or cottage, I'm not so sure... but either way they were cute! Not much different from Ontario's but still. It added nicely to the......... water. LOL. And trees.

I think we also saw a lot of churches. I hear that Quebec is pretty much Catholic or something???? Not sure, but there were quite a bit of catholic churches. They were all white, white for pure I guess? But nonetheless they were built nicely. Mom said something about the churches in Quebec looking like England's churches. Really? But yeah, we saw a cemetery along the way and it was put together nicely and neatly so I thought, why not? I'll just take a picture.

I'm not so sure if you guys know but I LOVE looking at the sky. Preferably when it's sunny, but I mean cloudy skies are nice too. They're just more.... depressing. But yes, I was looking at the waters again actually and looked up to the sky and saw a flock of... whatever they were flying wherever they were going and thought it might've been a nice picture. They're not like geese, flying in a V but more of a scatter, but hey! Flying together is still fun right? Just like my parents and I going together. (: As long as you're together then everything seems a lot less scarier and less lonely. You can face tough situations you encounter together instead of doing it alone, and there's just a lot of advantages being in a group. I hope the birds get to wherever they're going safely!
ALAS we're nearing our way to New Brunswick and the earth starts to build it's way up towards the sky. If you understand what I mean of course. I meant that you could suddenly see mountains and like... the area becoming very... rural? :/ LOL there were a lot of cows and horses on the mountains eating their daily food [grass] and minding their own business. My mom said "I wonder if the beef in Quebec taste better... since the cows walk all the way up the hill and down. They get their exercise." LOOL well, I had to laugh at that. (:

FINALLY WE CROSS THE BRIDGE FROM QUEBEC TO NEW BRUNSWICK. We didn't go too far in, we literally just stayed by the edge of New Brunswick. From here to Quebec on the bridge is less than 2 minutes. The place looks really down... but it isn't bad. We're staying at a hotel called "Howard Johnson" and you'd be surprised as to how different the appearance on the outside compared to the inside is. I thought this hotel looked like a bar place... in which my father confirmed to me that it was... so I was like "... am i allowed to go in there? D:" but whatever. The outside looks ancient but the inside is BEAUTIFUL. It's so... new. LOL. we even got lucky. ;D Parents booked for a smoking room [no they don't smoke. it was just cheaper. yes, thank you; cheapsies for life! ;D] but omo omo omo! We got here and receptionist tells us that there's no more smoking rooms left so we're left with non smoking rooms, which is even better! Best part is we didn't have to pay any extra fees. (: And the room has no smoke smell. kekeke.
BUT YEAH before bringing all our stuff in we went to eat. Looked around andddd there wasn't much. BUT we found some restaurant thing called Dixie Lee; they sell chicken and seafoods [ish]. Fried. There was KFC but i haven't eaten there in years because of........ stuff. BUT YEAH the food at Dixie Lee is expensive... but oh well, the food wasn't too bad and we're not eating there again anyway. XD It was just a first day dinner kind of thing. (: we go chinese buffet tomorrow! says my mother...
Came home, showered, came out and BAM. The mirror right in front had a drawing [from the steam] of a face and writings saying "I see you!" I literally just stared at it for about a minute before moving on. I thought there was some kind of ghost for a second after seeing it. It startled me but I got a good laugh from it.
and now ... :) time to sleep. I don't like how it's an hour faster than ontario here. :( makes the day seem so much shorter. I'm not even sleepy, but parents slept half an hour ago so i better go too. 12am in NB.
Jacqueline out.
